Sleep May Be A Little Overrated

Well I'm sure some who are reading this might already know what the title is about.

The past day and a half has been quite interesting. The story all starts last night when Nik, Aloysious, Amanda, Sabrina, and I were going to practice. . .

We were all walking to KMU last night to practice. When we came upon the amphitheater Amanda saw her favorite rail to slide down. Well Nik, Sabrina, and I kept walking on unaware that Amanda was going to stay behind and slide down the rail. Aloysious decided to stay behind I guess. The three of us made it indoors out of the blistering cold and decided to sit on the bench and wait. Well a couple of minutes passed by and we figured the other two were just having fun. All of a sudden we saw Aly (that's your nickname) come running to the entrance. We all got up and went outdoors and discovered Amanda was hurt. Apparently after she slid down the rail she took a step and she heard a cracking noise in her foot that caused her some discomfort. After she began walking it off she noticed a large, swollen section on her foot. All of us were standing by her while she called her mom for advice. Nik and Sabrina went to get ice while Aly got the car. While waiting Ginger and Peter came walking along. When Aly arrived with the car we all helped her get into the car and took her back to the residence hall.

Fast forward a bit. . .

Eventually Amanda's RA convinced her to go to the hospital. After arriving Amanda filled out the paperwork while Aly, Ginger, and I waited with her. To make a long story short we finally made it out of the hospital 5 hours later. Amanda had an X-Ray which did not show any signs of a broken bone. She left the hospital with a boot on her foot and crutches to help her walk. Well, I think everyone made it to bed around 4 AM. Later that morning I had to wake up at 8 to go to sight singing. I woke up at 8 like planned and then went to sight singing at 9. I sang my quiz in class and then left to go practice before my unofficial theory class. I was surprised because I did not find myself all that tired. After practicing some third exercises for fundamentals class I went to theory. We met in Dr. Shaftel's office. I still was not tired. We worked on part writing in his class and then I returned to my hall to eat lunch.

After eating lunch I left again to go to fundamentals class. When I arrived I was surprised to hear Prof. Bish was sick, therefore fundamentals class was cancelled. I decided to wash my sheets then. While waiting for my sheets to wash Amanda and I played chess. No stalemate this time :(. Amanda won in glorious fashion. Then she played Aly, but I don't know who won. After chess I went practicing again. My practice session for the 2 hours seemed to be pretty productive. At 5 I finished up and then went with Aly and Amanda to pick up her radiology report at the hospital. Then we went to The American Cafe for dinner. When we returned I practiced for about 45 minutes. Somehow I managed to work out the rest of these two etudes when I only had half of them learned before. I was extremely pleased. When I was done practicing Aly and I went to pick up our mail. Tommorrow before I leave I get to pick up a package! We then watched a movie with Amanda and Sabrina. The movie was, "North, By Northwest," with Cary Grant. In this film Cary reminded me a lot of James Bond again. I really enjoyed it. After going through a busy day it wasn't till we started the movie that I was actually tired. I dozed off a little but managed to stay awake for the whole thing. Now I'm writing this and I actually somewhat agree that sleep is overrated. But then of course this was only one day I went through on 4 hours of sleep. I dont' plan on doing this all the time.

Good night

One more thing, when I get back from Thanksgiving Break hopefully I'll have a picture of my house lit up with Christmas lights.
