My Lesson and a Concert

Well yesterday (Wednesday) was an exciting day for me. Mostly because I had a concert last night. But, I always look forward to Wednesdays because I go to my private lesson.

After going math I headed off to warmup for my lesson. I was especially excited for my lesson yesterday because I was more prepared. At my lesson Dr. K spent a lot of time with me testing reeds and also working on my emboshure. Overall it was a real good lesson. We also discussed my preparation and performance and so I have a good idea how I need to refine the way I practice.

Later that night I had my concert. I must say the concert went really well. Dr. Shellehaymer was really pleased with our performance. I'm sure it made him feel good leaving with such a great concert. My favorite piece that we played was "Apocalyptic Dreams." The third movement is my favorite part. I really love when the solos are done and then this huge fanfare begins. The brass also starts playing this hymn which the clarinets later join in on. After the concert after walking forever to Blockbuster in the cold I watched the movie, "The Others." The script writer sure did a good job because he/she had me fooled to the end. Anyway that's all for now.
