Well, well, well.
The past four days have been filled with much fun.
Last Thursday was quite the routine day. After waking up and going to sight singing I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no singing quiz. Following sight singing I quickly revised this short story I wrote for English and headed off to English. What is the short story about you may ask? Well, it is the typical story about a little boy in a poor family and all he wants is a normal Christmas like everybody else. Not that I couldn't have thought of anything better I just thought why waste my time trying to do an elaborate story when I can do something else. When I was at English I found out my teacher is already married which came as quite a surprise. In addition to that I found out he is 35 years old which was even more surprising since he doesn't look that old. Anyway after English I of course went to the BCM with my friends. Does anybody no what is with this chili obsession that started about three weeks ago? It seems as if someone at the BCM is crazed by chili. Nothing against chili, because I do like it but, Woah calm down Mr. or Mrs. Chili-Lover. Later that evening I went to Journey Groups and had a wonderful Bible study. Before bed I watched the movie, "Charade," with Aloysius, Ryan, Nik, and Amanda. Charade is a very cool movie. This is due partly because it had me fooled the whole time and I didn't know who was killing who. Oops, you didn't want to hear that did you? Anyway I found out that Audrey Hepburn is a really good actress. Also Cary Grant's character in the movie reminds me a lot of the earlier James Bond actors.
Friday was a day filled with no math class and sleep. After sleeping through my math class-not that I don't care about my schoolwork because I do, but I see no point in sitting through a class composed of utter-boredom-I woke up and got ready to go to Walmart. At Walmart I bought my usual stuff. By the way Amanda how was my opinion on the masscara, lol? Then, I arrived back at my residence hall just in time for music theory. In music theory we basically sang some cool chord progressions and took a quiz. After this I ate my late lunch and did laundry at the same time. I discovered that the laundry room is less congested on Friday afternoons. Later I went with Aloysius and Alan to Pastor Dave's house! Why was I so excited? Well--we had spaghetti! the best meal in the world! Woo hoo! :) Thank you to all those from Unveiled who prepared the delicious meal. After Dave's house I returned to practice with Aloysius. Well my teacher has been having me break in these new reads recently that are a lot harder to play. Also he's been changing my emboshure. So, trying to do this all at once can become quite difficult. After awhile I started to feel a, "bagpipe hangover," coming on. Now what is this you may ask? Well since I have never been drunk nor drank at all I do not officially know what a hangover feels like. But, whenever you play bagpipes for a really long time your head may feel light-headed and in extreme pain. This is what I imagine a hangover must feel like. So, I call it a bagpipe hangover. That was how I felt. But then I stopped playing clarinet and switched over to piano. I played Vince Guaraldi's hit song, "Christmas Time is Here," from Charlie Brown which made me feel much better. Did I mention Christmas is only 35 days away?!!!!!!!!! Yes!!!!!! Anyway I left after awhile because Amanda and Ryan and maybe some other people were picking up a movie from Blockbuster. That night we watched "The Importance of Being Earnest." I would not classify it as one of my favorite movies but it was quite funny and it reminded of some other movie I've seen. After the movie I returned to my room and actually started reading a new book. This book is titled, "The Faith of an American Soldier," by Stephen Mansfield. It's a very cool book that gives you much of the perspective of our soldiers who are currently fighting in Iraq and how they are so much different than soldiers from previous wars. This book was definitely something I immediately loved. Then I retired.
Saturday morning I woke up an hour and a half later than I wanted to. But that was ok and soon after I was up and ready I headed off to practice. Ryan was practicing at the same time as me. My practice yesterday morning was much more productive than Friday night. I felt like I accomplished a lot. And, no bagpipe hangovers. :) Following practice I returned to my room and did something. What, I can't remember, lol. I do remember I went with Ryan, Sabrina, and Amanda to Lake Ella in the early afternoon. I must say Lake Ella is a cool place to hang out and it's also very picturesque. For lunch we went to 1 Fresh Stir Fry. It's a very cool place where you mix-and-match your own stir fry. Then we returned to the lake and rode in Sabrina's car to the Tallahassee Mall. We spent quite a bit of time in there walking around and browsing. Later we returned to our residence hall. Then I did my theory homework which wasn't bad at all. Aloysius, Nik, and I went to Fresh Food after that for dinner. When I returned I went with Amanda, Ryan, and Sabrina to this coffee place downtown. While we were there my professor happened to walk in which was cool. I also met his wife. When we were finished at the coffee shop we walked around the downtown sector and eventually made it to the capital building. We had fun smiling for the security cameras and also having a political discussion. Go figure at the Capital building we would be talking politics. But at least it was two conservatives, a liberal, and an apathetic. Upon our return to the hall we watched "Breakfast at Tiffany's" another Audrey Hepburn film. The movie of course was good because it had more of Henry Mancini's music. After watching this movie I returned to my room and read more of my book.
Today, Sunday I went to church. The weather this morning was on my side. A cool breeze with an overcast sky. The sermon this morning was a continuation of a series on David and his character. The text came from the chapter discussing David's relationship with Bathseeba. One thing that Pastor Bob Evans pointed out was that David had no accountability partner. This was something that I never realized before. Many othe Biblical characters had friends or family members who kept them accountable. David however had no one to keep him accountable partly because he was king. Pastor Evans emphasized the need for all of us to keep one another accountable. I also was reminded that possibly next year an amendment might be on the Florida ballot specifically banning same-sex marriage. I would like to see this amendment on the ballot next year. After church my brother took me home and now I'm here. Before I wrote this blog I was checking my email. These dumb "You've won 1 million dollars" emails have been popping up in my email. Well I had really only one word for them. Deleted!!!! That is pretty much the extent of my past four days.
God Bless
