Cold!!!!

Yes! A cold front is coming in approximately Thursday. The low for Friday looks to be in the upper-40's. Woo hoo!!!!

This may sound strange, but even with last night's loss against N.C. State, Florida State still has a chance at winning their division in the ACC. Consider this, last year Florida State had an 8-4 record by the end of the season. That included two conference losses (actually to the same two teams they have lost to this year, I'll comment on that in a moment). Now consider this: five of Florida State's last seven games are at home. Not only that, but their only two conference games left on the road are against poor teams (Maryland and Duke). The three teams on top of the Atlantic division right now are N.C. State, Wake Forest, and Clemson. All three teams have multiple conference games left against ranked teams. If the appropriate teams beat each other and Florida State wins their remaining conference games, they could certainly win the Atlantic division in the ACC.

As far as Florida State's two losses this year, consider this: both of our losses came to teams whose head coach was mentored by Bobby Bowden at some point. Chuck Amato of N.C. State used to coach at Florida State until taking his current head coaching job. Tommy Bowden of Clemson of course grew up under his father so it's no secret as to where he gets his stuff.

As far as last nights performance, there were a lot of positives. Consider this: with 10 minutes 43 seconds left in the second quarter, Lorenzo Booker had 126 yards on offense while N.C. State had 118 yards on offense. You could say if Drew Weatherford didn't throw the interception in the last drive Florida State would have won. But, Florida State's loss really came down to their first two drives of the game. Both times they settled for field goals instead of touchdowns which would have been the deciding factor in the game. Another thing that hurt FSU were the penalties. That is something they've had a problem with the last couple of years.

As far as Jeff Bowden goes, there were a lot of positives for him and the offense. I actually saw Jeff switching up the formations and calling lots of audibles last night. They also utilized the "reverse" a lot for big yards. A lot of people complain about Jeff Bowden, but I'm actually interested to see what he does the remainder of the season. . .
