Marcus Roberts
Every night the education channel where I live plays recordings of classical arts recordings ranging from orchestral pieces to ballet excerpts. Well this evening when I was flipping back-and-forth between the education channel and Mission Impossible II I saw this man playing piano whom I recognized. It was Marcus Roberts, one of the jazz professors at FSU. He was playing with the Berlin Philharmonic and Seiji Ozawa (conducting) at the Hollywood Bowl in California. Marcus was playing his own arrangement of "Rhapsody in Blue" with improvisation sections interspersed. It was extremely cool.
